One of the most renowned photographers of the interwar period, Brassaï (meaning "from Brasso", the town in Transylvania where he was born in 1899) began to work in Paris in 1924. By 1929, he began to specialise in night photography, a practice that had become popular in Paris, wandering the streets at night, taking photographs.

Taken in low light, these images depict prostitutes, down and outs, drinkers and pimps. 285mm h x 220 w image size.
